Support

Support personnel are on a part-time Monday/Wednesday schedule, and home appointments are available on those days. Saturdays and Sunday are an option but are not preferred.

The best way to contact support is via e-mail: support@lucasvalley.net. Telephone support is available at 259-5856. Telephone messages are usually returned on the evening of the same day. Please provide your street address when calling.

Server Support

If you need access to your e-mail or web site files and are away from home or are at a computer not configured for your account, use the iManager. You can also use iManager to change your password or adjust your spam thresholds.

Using SSL for Mail

To configure mail for SSL on any computer, use the following address for both incoming and outgoing mail:

Normal Server Address SSL Server Address
lucasvalley.net lvcable3.securesites.net
lvha.net lvcable4.securesites.net

You also need to change the POP port from 110 to 995, or the IMAP port to 993, if your mail program doesn't make that port change automatically.

Our servers used a shared SSL certificate, which some Apple mail programs will not tolerate unless you are willing to constantly dismiss error messages.

Eliminating SPAM

If you use a Windows-based computer with either Outlook or Outlook Express, we recommend the Cloudmark Desktop to virtually eliminate unwanted commercial e-mail. This product has become so popular among our users that we have arranged to provide it at a slight discount.

Here's how to take advantage of the free trial :

1. Download and install Cloudmark Desktop.

2. Try Cloudmark for free for a few days. If you are not delighted, simply uninstall Cloudmark with "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. If you decide to keep Cloudmark, send an e-mail request to Lucas Valley Cable Support. We will send you a license key by return e-mail and add the $38.95 annual fee to your cable bill.

Note: This price is below retail, so the offer is only valid for Lucas Valley Cable customers with our broadband Internet service.
